mySPIN enables riders to integrate their smartphone for safe, convenient, distraction-free access to phone content on the motorcycle. This allows the use of two-wheeler apps on the motorcycle instrument cluster, which are offered as part of the mySPIN platform. The content is displayed in a simplified form to ensure mySPIN can be operated safely during the ride.

The mySPIN solution, initially available for passenger cars, was adapted and enhanced for the two-wheeler and powersports vehicle segment in 2016. With mySPIN, selected apps and connected services can be displayed on the vehicle cluster in a rider-friendly format. mySPIN furthermore enables the rider to operate and use these apps and services easily by means of the rotary controllers and buttons on the handlebar. A soon as the smartphone connects to the two-wheeler or powersports vehicle via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or USB, apps and essential smartphone features (e.g. phone functions) become available to the rider on the vehicle’s display.
All the apps are specially geared to mobile use to prevent distracting the rider’s attention away from what is happening on the road and to enable safe, rider-friendly operation. As soon as the smartphone is connected to the vehicle, the rider is shown only relevant functions and information on the vehicle’s display. In this special vehicle mode, the look and feel of the apps are the same as when they are used on the smartphone.
Added to this are specially developed applications like REVER and Genius Maps. REVER allows riders to record their routes and share them with their community as well as download routes that have been shared by the community. Genius Maps provides navigation functions and the latest traffic information.
Thanks to mySPIN’s cloud connectivity, manufacturers can communicate with riders directly and keep them updated with important, personalized information. The manufacturers decide themselves which apps are made available and they can expand the portfolio with new functions and apps.
The rider connects the smartphone with the cluster via the mySPIN Launcher App from the App Store or Play Store – either directly or as a Launcher App function within the manufacturer’s own app. The Launcher App shows mySPIN-enabled applications and functions that can be used on the cluster. That way riders can configurate as well as add apps and features.
