In this process, Bosch combines its IT competence with extensive automotive know-how, an in-depth understanding of vehicle data, and many years of experience with mobility services.

processes and, above all, make the driving experience more efficient, in a way that is tailored to the needs of each partner. Bosch is thus creating comfortable and convenient mobility, all in the name of efficiency and profitability.
Drivers of cars, trucks, and motorcycles can benefit from superior safety, comfort, convenience, and efficiency with the Connected Horizon from Bosch. The system provides vehicles with updated map data and up-to-the-minute cloud information for route planning. In doing so, the Connected Horizon supports driver assistance systems in many different situations with important predictive information. In short: expanded horizons – with the Connected Horizon.
Connectivity and new vehicle architectures gives rise to clever opportunities to retrofit the vehicle with new features. The cloud solution for the convenient efficient vehicle helps shipping companies, logistics planners, and fleet operators optimize consumption and costs. Cleverly linking the information from the logistics database increases convenience and efficiency. The centerpiece is the “eco maneuver optimizer”: an integrated powertrain optimization feature. This is complemented by the cloud connection including current vehicle loading conditions and calculates the most efficient speed. The result: at least 4% fuel savings.
At Bosch, safety is our first priority. Therefore, Bosch offers its partners a variety of smart, cloud-based services that help drivers get from A to B safely. The goal of these solutions is to counteract and prevent any potential dangers that occur while driving in a timely manner. Whether other traffic participants,
different types of weather, or various road conditions are involved: with the smart solutions from Bosch, drivers are safe and comfortable on the road – no matter whether on country roads, highways, or in city traffic.
This smart solution quickly detects vehicles that are driving the wrong way and issues a warning. Connected traffic participants in the vicinity of the wrong-way driver can thus be informed more quickly and easily than with previous technologies – either through a smartphone app or as an integrated solution in the vehicle’s cockpit display. The motion of the vehicle is compared with the permissible direction of travel, which is stored in a digital database. If these do not match, the driver is notified that he is driving the wrong way and the connected traffic participants in the hazard area are warned accordingly.
The road signature is a location service that helps automated vehicles determine their exact position. Video and radar sensors provide information about objects and features in the surroundings of the vehicle. In the process, the fleet radar and video sensor data collected by car manufacturers in their clouds is transmitted to the Bosch IoT cloud. Bosch uses this data to create the road signature, which is integrated by map providers into the overall map. This high-resolution map provides important information for locating the automated vehicle.
With its prime goal of zero-accident, convenient mobility in mind, Bosch is continually working toward developing the products and technologies needed to make this vision a reality. One of these technologies is connected map services. These use swarm data (crowdsourcing) in combination with other data sources from the infrastructure to provide a virtual sensor for use in driver assistance systems.
Bosch supports fleet operators with cloud-based solutions. With these, Bosch monitors the entire vehicle life cycle – with solutions for battery management, smart technologies that notify drivers in advance of upcoming maintenance
to prevent malfunctions and breakdowns, and many other solutions. One thing is for sure: with Bosch, fleet operators always have a complete overview – including vehicle availability, energy supply, and upcoming maintenance.
With its cloud-based solutions, Bosch actively supports fleet operators with access management, vehicle parking, and many other service offerings for all aspects of mobility. The keyless vehicle access system enables entry into the vehicle and allows it to be started. To do so, it creates a digital key on the user’s cell phone. In addition, the owner can also allow other users to access the vehicle using an app. An additional digital key is then sent through the cloud. In short: perfectly keyless is the key to convenient, flexible everyday mobility.
Perfectly keyless is a keyless vehicle access system. The digital key stored on a cell phone enables access to the vehicle and allows the vehicle to be started. Perfectly keyless also offers the driver more convenience and flexibility. Via an app, the vehicle owner or fleet operator can activate the vehicle for other users. An additional digital key is then sent through the cloud. In short: perfectly keyless is the key to efficient fleet management.
Automated valet parking is the first highly automated system that frees the driver from looking for a parking space and parking the vehicle. All the driver needs to do is stop the vehicle in a designated drop-off area at a parking garage and get out. The smart Bosch infrastructure then takes over and drives the vehicle to the vacant space in order to park it. The system therefore provides drivers with an innovative and attractive parking experience and also enables parking facility operators to optimally deploy their parking capacities as well as offer a range of new services.
Bosch secure truck parking is the European booking platform for secure truck parking areas. Fleet managers can quickly and easily plan parking spaces according to their drivers’ routes. Drivers can also easily book available parking spaces themselves right in the app. This flexibility is especially beneficial when driving time limits are approaching.
The software-defined vehicle describes the shift from hardware-driven to software-defined development. Modern E/E architectures, powerful vehicle computers, and cloud-based services make vehicles both senders and receivers of data. This allows the vehicle to communicate with its environment,
collect data in real operation, and send it to the cloud. Using this data, features and services can be continually enhanced and re-uploaded to the vehicle using over-the-air updates. This way, the vehicle is continuously being optimized.
