The natural-gas injection valve NGI2 is used in civil automotive applications with systems with intake-manifold injection in suction engines or in charged engines. The natural-gas injection valve injects natural gas (compressed natural gas – CNG) at system pressure into the intake manifold.
The NGI2 family enables a high CH4 mass flow.
The NGI2 is characterized by a compact size and very low weight.
Drag to rotate
The injector for CNG systems is supplied by the CNG fuel rail. The injection is triggered by the electronic control unit via a signal, which is calculated by the engine management system. The gas quantity required by the engine is therefore exactly dosed.
The NGI2 was developed specifically to meet the requirements of CNG operation: as an electromagnetic valve for a higher gas volume, high flow speed and wear resistance, even when operated with oil-free gas. Its quality and service life can be compared with those of fuel injectors. The very low leakage continues to fall during the service life.
